The Autobiography of Meridian Scarz

Introduction

"Born in East London in the early 80's, of West Indian and East African heritages. I grew up in London, England and learnt to understand that music to me is more than just a creative pursuit.

It has been a sanctuary, a discipline, a private refuge, and a lifelong language through which I have learned to transform the weight of lived experiences into something artisifyingly meaningful, refined, and enduring.

Music entered my life not as a passing interest, but as a calling — one that gave structure to emotions I could artistify through sound. Music gave a form to memory, and dignity to the many chapters of life that might otherwise have remained unspoken.

From the very beginning, I was drawn to its emotional depth: the way it can hold sorrow without it collapsing, the way it can carry beauty through adversity, and how it turns pain into something that feels understanding and illuminated.

My relationship with music has always been rooted in both instinct and necessity. As I grew, sound became the space where I could process what I was carrying, where I could begin to shape an inner world with intention, and where I could build a sense of identity with an energy that was larger than my circumstance.

That relationship deepened into a serious artistic commitment. I pursued Music Business and Technology, then progressed into Music Production, developing the technical and creative foundation required to shape records with precision, atmosphere, and emotional intelligence.

Through audio engineering, instrumentations, arrangements, live sound tracking, and the construction of music production in a studio setting, I came to understand that creative production is not simply about sound design — it is about artistifying architecture, emotion, and the ability to create an experience that lingers long after the music has ended.

What has defined my journey most profoundly is the depth from which it has emerged. My path has not been easy, and it has not been without the burdens of painful experiences, but those realities have given my work its gravity.

They taught me endurance, sharpened my sense of purpose, and compelled me to hold myself to a higher standard. I learned early that if I was going to create, I needed to create with conviction. If I was going to build a future in music, it had to be one rooted in transparency, discipline, and emotional truth.

That pressure has shaped the way I hear, the way I work, and the way I understand excellence. Music became the place where I could transform hardship into craft, and craft into something that felt elegant, purposeful, and alive.

Working with live musicians and experienced artists expanded that understanding further. Those environments required presence, adaptability, and a seriousness of approach that left no room for passivity.

They taught me how to listen beyond the obvious, how to respond with precision, and how to recognise the difference between something that is merely finished and something that feels complete at the highest level.

Being in those spaces strengthened my respect for the details that define exceptional work — the timing, the restraint, the texture, the atmosphere, the emotional contour — all the elements that allow a record to feel not only polished, but deeply felt. Artistry is not only about talent; it is about the ability to artistify consistency, care, discipline, and the continued refinement into a body of work that represents the authority of my vision.

My identity is an artistifying pursuit of depth, elegance, and stature. I am not simply interested in creating music that sounds good in the moment; I am building toward a body of work that feels timeless, culturally relevant, and emotionally commanding.

I want my music to carry a sense of luxury in its detail and seriousness in its intent — to feel refined without losing soul, and ambitious without losing intimacy.

My aspiration is to occupy a space where artistry is treated with the respect it deserves, where the work is not only heard but felt, and where the sound itself reflects a standard of excellence that is both aspirational and enduring.

At the centre of all my emotion is the passion I bring to my music that comes from a place of lived depth: from the struggles endured, from longing, from scarred resilience, from deep reflection, and from the instinct to turn what has been difficult into something artistifyingly beautiful.

There is a cinematic quality to the way I have experienced my life and these scenes can be heard in my work and, are theatrically present as my sound signature, as though every chapter contributes to a larger unfolding.

I create from the inner landscapes of soul — from the tensions between pain and hope, memory and ambition, vulnerability and control.

Music allows me to give shape to those forces, to make them audible in a way that feels both intimate and expansive.

As my work continues to evolve, my focus remains fixed on building music that stands out with presence and integrity.

I want each record to feel intentional, elevated, and emotionally complete — work that resonates not only because of its sound, but because of the meaning and depths within it.

My ambition is to create a catalogue that reflects a clear artistic identity and a serious commitment to excellence, one that speaks to listeners who value substance, atmosphere, and meaning.

I want the music to feel like a statement of who I am and what I represent: resilience, refinement, sensitivity, and an unwavering dedication to high standards.

Ultimately, my journey in music is about legacy. It is about taking everything I have lived, everything I have felt, and everything I continue to become, and turning it into artistifing work that carries weight, beauty, and longevity.

I am committed to creating from a place of truth and precision, with the intention of shaping sounds that endure, to sculpt new monumental becomings.

It has always been music that has given me the means to see further into life, and I shall continue to pursue this dream made reality with deep respect, emotional transparency, and the essence reflective of the highest form of artistry."
